Bob Marley has a fantastic record of
music, releasing numerous albums, played concerts in every continent, contributing
to his world recognition. Bob was born on the 6th February 1945 and died
on 11th May 1981. Probably his most recognised album was Legend, released
after his death.
In 1963 Bob Marley fulfilled his lifelong dream, releasing
his first single 'Judge Not'. Himself with Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh
formed the group The Wailers. In 1967 he converted from Christianity to
Rastafarianism. During the 1970's, amid great political and economic turmoil
there was an attempted assassination, soon after Bob started to travel
abroad. A modest person who stuck to his roots in Jamaica, despite its
turmoil; "I handle fame by not being famous....I'm not famous to me". Probably
his most recognised moment was in 1978 when performing in the One Love
Peace Concert and united the Prime Minister and Leader of the opposition,
and later received the peace medal of the third world from the United Nations.
My favorite Bob Marley album is The Songs of Freedom
collection which includes four CD's including his earliest work to his
most recent.
